As is sometimes the case after a catalog has been published, errors and omissions are discovered. It is the goal of this addendum to rectify those errors. Therefore, please note that the following corrections, additions and/or changes are not included in the printed catalog for this auction. Nevertheless, the following statements are however covered under the Conditions of Sale as listed in the front of the auction catalog.

 

CORRECTIONS

 

Lot 27 – DESCRIPTION SHOULD READ: A VERY FINE HERSCHEDE TALL CASE CLOCK CIRCA 1920 (NOT C. 1900), mahogany case with domed bonnet above a functioning moon dial and silvered chapter ring with gilt numerals surrounded by a scrolled pierced filigree face plate with selections for Westminster, Wittington and Canterbury chimes as produced by eight suspended tubes. Height 92 inches.  Estimate $3,000-$5,000

 

Lot 245 - CATALOG ENTRY WAS SWITCHED WITH 246 (IMAGE WAS CORRECT).  DESCRIPTION SHOULD READ: A FINE AMBERINA CORNUCOPIA VASE late 19th century in cranberry shading to amber glass on a pulled petal form base with rigoree.  Height 8 inches.  Estimate $200-$300

 

Lot 246 - CATALOG ENTRY WAS SWITCHED WITH 245 (IMAGE WAS CORRECT).  DESCRIPTION SHOULD READ: A STEUBEN CORNUCOPIA VASE C. 1920 in green crystal with topaz bell shape foot.  Height 8 inches.  Estimate $200-$300

 

Lot 276 – SHOULD READ: A 4-PIECE (NOT 5-PIECE) GROUP OF IMARI PORCELAIN 20th century, hand painted designs together with a blue & white Arita plate. Diameter 8.5 inches. Estimate $75-$150

 

Lot 413 - A PAIR OF 19TH CENTURY CONTINENTAL CUT GLASS CANDELABRA fine cut and polished bases with scrolled ormolu arms and crystal pendants.  SHOULD READ: Height 16.5 inches (not Height 6.5 inches).  Estimate $500-$750

Lot 730 - A FINE BOY SCOUTS OF AMERICA grouping belonging to Robert Stanley Allen of Illinois, C. 1929-1941.  PLEASE NOTE: The felt Beanie Cap with period buttons including 1936, 1937 La Grange Country Club caddie buttons, 1926 State of Illinois chauffeur and many others will be sold separately as Lot 730A (see “Additions”).

 

Lot 983 - A CARVED IVORY LOTUS GROUP 20th century set in a jadeite base SHOULD READ: together with a pair of carved BLACK AMBER (not ebony) figures.  Height 7 inches.  Estimate $50-$100

 

Lot 1177 – A 96 PIECE SET OF HAVILAND LIMOGES DINNERWARE early 20th century with ivory band decoration.  Service for 11 with extra pieces. DESCRIPTION SHOULD ALSO INCLUDE: Together with a silver plate creamer & sugar, 12 silver plate dessert forks and 7 knives. Estimate $200-$400

Lot 276A – AN IMARI HAND PAINTED PLATE with gilt ground, early 20th century. Chip on rim. Diameter 9 inches.

Lot 311A – OLD MASTER & 19TH CENTURY WORKS ON PAPER including an Old Master pen and ink drawing (17th century) of a interior tavern scene of men making merry (7”x9”), also a circa 1840’s pencil portrait of a seated young man (5.25”x3.5”), and a 19th century impressionistic summer landscape, pastel on paper (11”x15.5”). All works unframed. Estimate $100-$200

 

Lot 311B – OLD MASTER PRINTS a group of 6 works on paper including late 19th century copies of two works by Albrecht Durer, “Coat of Arms with Skull” (6 1/8” x 8 5/8”) and a Heraldic image depicting a rooster atop a helmet (7 1/4”x4 5/8”). Also an engraving of “The Infanta Isabella Clara Eugenia” after the painting by Van Dyck (9”x6”) plus a hand colored fashion print (9”x16”), a printed litho of a seated girl (10.5”x7”) and an unsigned etching depicting a summer landscape (8”x6”). Lot 311C – WILLIAM R. HAMLIN (American 1772-1869) “Portrait of George Washington” engraving. Signed in the plate. 8.5”x6” (impression), 11.5”x9” (sheet size). Unframed. Estimate $100-$200

Together with a 1926 Illinois chauffeur badge, a Philips Petroleum Alamo Refinery employees badge, and approximately 50 pin back buttons circa 1930’s.
