August 13th, 2005
- Lots 01-528
In
the world of advanced collectors of Hand Painted Nippon Porcelain there are
few, if any, who do not know of Fred Tenney and his spectacular collection.
Born in the small town of Harrison Maine, Fred bought his first piece of
Nippon for $3 at a barn sale decades ago and has been collecting ever since.
Fred was active from the very beginning of the INCC and served as its
president on more than one occasion. Fred’s outstanding collection of over
500 individual pieces includes important exam ples from a multitude of
categories. Examples from Fred’s collection can be found in every book
published on the subject. The consummate collector, if ever there was one,
Fred’s reputation in the world of Postcard collecting is similar to that in
the world of Nippon. His collection of historic and important real photo
postcards is one of the most important in that field. In his 27-year
professional career, Fred Tenney earned the reputation as one of the
country’s most respected rehabilitation professionals earning numerous
awards, recognition and accolades. Jackson’s International is pleased to
present this important collection which offers a truly once in a lifetime
opportunity for those, who like Fred Tenney, are passionate about Hand
Painted Nippon.
