A LARGE AND IMPRESSIVE FRENCH SEVRES PORCELAIN AND GILT BRONZE MOUNTED CENTERPIECE the porcelain attributed to 1780, the mounts later possibly by Edward Holmes Baldock, circa 1830-1840. Comprising a porcelain charger with hand painted florals against a turquoise blue ground set in a gilt bronze shallow bowl with applied scrolled acanthus rim supported by three gilt bronze dolphin form legs each terminating with a mask of Bacchus. The porcelain marked CC within interlaced L's above the letter S, underglaze. the mounts apparently unsigned. Height 14", diameter 12.25".
