A VERY FINE FRENCH CARVED LIMESTONE HEAD OF CHRIST, 19th century(?), perhaps much earlier. Carved in three-quarters round with flat back exhibiting carved anchor receptacles. Finely carved flowing hair and beard and resting on a later carved marble plinth. Height 14" (38 cm). Overall height 22" (73 cm). Good even wear and patina.
