1236 CIVIL WAR LETTER, CHARLES MARSHALL (1830-1901) AIDE TO GENERAL LEE SIGNED LETTER, hand written personal letter signed "Charles Marshall" dated "9/91". (Note: Lt. Col. Charles Marshall C.S.A. was aide-de-camp to General Lee and present during Lee's surrender at Appomattox. It was Marshall who scouted Appomattox for the proper meeting place accepting Wilmer McLean's offer for the use of his home.) Estimate $250-$500
1237 POWDER HORN, A FINE FOLK ART SCRIMSHAW POWDER HORN circa 1830 probably Pennsylvania Dutch, incised stylized scenic designs, the central theme with a crowned heart flanked by a man and woman on opposite sides, the man presenting a potted plant with repeating designs of potted plants and geese throughout, ending with a costumed dancer. Nice untouched brown shading to beige patina, wooden inset tack mounted center with sling eye absent, ring carved spout. Length 10". Estimate $1,000-$1,500
