A RARE 1926 WORLD SERIES GAME FOUR TICKET STUB SIGNED BY BABE RUTH AND LOU GEHRIG the rain check stub printed on card stock autographed across the back "Babe Ruth" above the autograph of "Lou Gehrig". Both signed in black fountain penned ink. The obverse with printed information regarding seat assignment and has an additional notation by probably the original owner stating "Babe Ruth hit 3 homeruns, Oct 6th 1926 New York vs St Louis". It is interesting to note that the 1926 Fourth Game was the first time 3 home runs would be hit by a single player (Ruth). It is also interesting that perhaps in the frenzy that surrounded this exciting series, the owner of this ticket erroneously penned the incorrect date, Oct 6th rather than the correct date of Oct 7th. AN INTERESTING LETTER WRITTEN TO "SHOELESS" JOE JACKSON circa 1937. Hand written letter in blue ink on plain stationary by Bill Justus, Asheville, NC to Joe Jackson, Greenville, SC. Postmarked Apr. 16th 1937, which reads as follows: Dear Joe, I am looking for employment of some kind. Was wondering if you might be able to help me in this way. I can do bookwork, book keeping, use typewriter, posting machine, adding machine and any kind of clerical work. Could you use me in your store? I have myself and wife to support not expecting any big job. Joe if you have nothing would you be kind enough to point me to something in Greenville. I will greatly appreciate anything you might help me to get. I have some very pleasant recollections of old baseball days.
