A CIVIL WAR ERA SURGEONS FIELD KIT, the fitted brass bound mahogany or rosewood case with felt-lined compartments displaying 14 medical instruments including scalpels, bone saw, retractors, tourniquit and other tools. Some tools set in ebony wood handles with checkering. Some marked "BLISS". A few instruments appear to be absent, others in overall excellent condition.
