RARE WWII 82ND AIRBORNE GROUPING including an M1C with tactical markings of the 508th PIR, a winged foot. Liner has black "MP" on front, 82nd Abn insignia on left, and Allied Abn on right. No chin cup. Further items include an unopened Abn first aid tie pouch w/contents, Size 34R Ike jacket named to "Johnston #4865," 82nd Abn on left sleeve, Sergeant stripes, Sterling Combat Infantry Badge, three-piece ribbon bar, 508th oval w/Sterling pin back jump wings, and French Fouragere. Additionally, a 508th unit history, an M3 knife by Camillus, Scarf cut from camo parachute canopy, Garand belt marked "Boyt 44," small 48 star flag, white name strip--"Johnston", and paraglider cap patch. Moreover, a "Paraglide" newspaper, eight original 82nd Abn photos including unit photo marked on reverse, "Epinal, France July 1945. Hq.&Hq. Co. 325th Glider Inf." Also an assortment of approximately 34 paper items including Paris street guide, etc. Finally, an 82nd lapel pin and Sterling ring with miniature jump wing. Approximately 67 individual items in all. Rare opportunity to acquire one of 6,400 helmets that arrived in Normandy with the 82nd Abn, all but a handful of which have disappeared without a trace.
