20th century. An elaborate and highly detailed icon. Here the horseback
George plunges a lance in the dragon beneath him. An angel prepares to
place a crown upon him as the princess and her parents look on from the
right. The condensed inscription at top reads "The Image of the
Great Martyr George the Victorious". Exceptional quality of
painting in the manner of a Palekh trained artist. 12"x9.5". |

Nicholas delivers a blessing and holds the Gospels open to Luke 6:17.
The left border with the Guardian Angel, the right border with the

being surrounded by 16 major church feast days. The corners with the
four Evangelists and at top center the New Testament Trinity. A large
and impressive icon with intricately incised gold leaf background and
