RUSSIAN ICON: Saint George, 20th century. An elaborate and highly detailed icon. Here the horseback George plunges a lance in the dragon beneath him. An angel prepares to place a crown upon him as the princess and her parents look on from the right. The condensed inscription at top reads "The Image of the Great Martyr George the Victorious". Exceptional quality of painting in the manner of a Palekh trained artist. 12"x9.5".

RUSSIAN ICON: Saint Nicholas the Wonderworker, 19th century. Nicholas delivers a blessing and holds the Gospels open to Luke 6:17. The left border with the Guardian Angel, the right border with the Venerable Izot. In excellent condition. 13.5"x12.25".

RUSSIAN ICON: The Lord Almighty, 20th century. A finely painted icon executed in the Old Traditional Style. On the borders are family Saints Evdokia, Maria of Egypt, Solomonia, and Alexandre Svirskiy. A beautiful icon. 11.25"x9".

RUSSIAN ICON: An Old Believers Carved Icon of the Cross, 20th century. Carved in high relief depicting the implements of the passion and with abbreviations relating to Christ such as "King of Glory", "Son of God", and many others. An interesting example. 7.5"x6.25".

RUSSIAN ICON: Saint Nicholas, 19th century. At center Nicholas delivers a blessing and holds an open book of Gospels. The borders with family saints St. John the Forerunner, Maria of Egypt, Paraskeva, Panteleimon, Gregory of Nyssa, and Gregory the Theologian. 17.5"x14".

RUSSIAN ICON: The Resurrection with Feasts, 19th century. The central panel depicting both the Western (top) and Eastern (below) Easter theme, this being surrounded by 16 major church feast days. The corners with the four Evangelists and at top center the New Testament Trinity. A large and impressive icon with intricately incised gold leaf background and borders. Lovely! 17.75"x14.5".

RUSSIAN ICON: The Vatopedskaya Mother of God, 20th century. The prototype for this icon is kept at the Vatopedi Monastery on Mt. Athos. 11"x8.5".

RUSSIAN ICON: The Archangel Michael, 20th century. A beautiful and exquisitely painted icon executed in the Palekh style. Here Mikhail rides atop a red winged horse and tramples evil below him. At top center the Old Testament Trinity. Beautiful! 12.25"x10.5".
