for the birth record and baptism of Christian Benner 1826. German text
decorated with an American eagle, angels and birds. Printed in black,
orange and yellow by "G. Peters Harrisburg, PA 1828."
Displayed in period poplar frame with pegged poplar backboards. Remnants
of polychrome graining. 16"x19.5". |

POLYCHROME WOOD FIGURAL TRADE SIGN mid 19th c.
depicting a young beauty in flowing gown on a carved flat panel. Obverse
decoration is fairly intact. A great piece of early folk art.
