finish, wood in very good condition with oil finish. Complete and
functions properly. With old leather sling, cleaning rod intact. 2nd

Made from a Richmond Armory type III musket. Stock cut off 3" ahead
of lower band. Hump-back lockplate, marked "CS" over
"Richmond" near front of plate, "1863" vertically at
rear. Original wood. Brass buttplate, bead front sight, without rear
sight. No finish on metal, scattered light pitting. |

US MODEL 1842 RIFLE/MUSKET.
Barrel shortened to 29 1/2", .69cal. (old job), stock shortened and
upper band moved back but without band spring. Original stock and
finish. Lockplate marked "Eagle" over "US" and
vertical "Springfield 1851". Inspector's shows ahead of wrist.
Crisp action and original ramrod (rusted). |
