A native of Wisconsin, Bergquist moved to Albuquerque, New Mexico in 1928 to take a teaching position. Primarily a commercial artist on contract with Brown and Bigelow, his subjects are often of Southwestern Landscapes with works in the Albuquerque Public Library.
