This rare subject takes its name from the Iosifov-Volokolamsk Monastery, where
it appeared in 1677. Overlaid with a very fine and heavy silver repoussé
riza embellished with a profusion of paste stones and with a unique turquoise
beaded border. Hallmarked St. Petersburg, and dated 1857. Cyrillic maker’s
