1, BURNSIDE CARBINE, FIFTH MODEL. Complete and sound. Barrel completely in the white with dark staining on exposed surfaces. Action case hardening faded to mottled silvery-gray. Oil finish on wood. No cartouches. “Z” on underside of wrist. Very good bore. Estimate.........................$400-$600

2, STARR CARBINE, percussion, .54 cal, brl and lock plate marked “Starr Arms Co., Younkers, NY”. Metal aged gray and brown. Brl. band and butt plate have good, old patina. Wood has about 50% orig. finish. Mechanically sound. Estimate..........................$400-$600

3, SHARPS CARBINE, NEW MODEL 1863 CARTRIDGE CONVERSION. Center fire, .52 caliber, 3-grooved barrel, excellent bore. Complete and sound. 95% blue on barrel. Case hardening still visible on action. Old varnish finish on wood, no cartouches, (old, professional job). S.N. 73XXX. Estimate.........................$600-$900

4, STARR CARTRIDGE CARBINE. Complete and sound. Barrel darkly mottled staining with light pitting within 8” of the muzzle. Action faded dark gray. All marking clear. No cartouche. Excellent bore. Wood has old varnish. S.N. 30XXX. Estimate.........................$400-$600

5, BURNSIDE CARBINE, Mod of 1964, complete with 80% orig. finish, deep cartouches on wrist; metal; brl. dark blue, trigger guard and hinge bright blue, darkening case hardening on action, hammer and butt plate. 7, SPENCER CARBINE, MODEL OF 1865. Complete and sound. Front sight is an old replacement. All metal faded dark. Wood has original finish/patina. Cartouches visible. 8, SPENCER CARBINE, 56/56 rim fire, complete except butt swivels, rear sight ladder crossbar and retaining screw missing. Sight marked with R.S. Lawrence patent information. Action marked Spencer Repeating Rifle co., Boston, Mass. All metal has turned dark brownish blue, wood has most of its original finish with usual light handling dings. Mechanically sound. 22, BELGIAN FLINTLOCK MILITARY PISTOL, Belgium proof on barrel, about .70 cal. 9” barrel. Lock has swan-necked hammer, iron pan with fence. Steel barrel bank. Brass fore cap, barrel key escutcheons, trigger guard, through bolt ferrules, flat butt cap with iron lanyard ring. Small oval cartouche with “CD” on lower tail of trigger guard. Stock without cracks or breaks. Solid gun. Estimate.........................$100-$200

23, BLUNDERBUSS PISTOL, FLINTLOCK. Small size, .50 caliber, 8” barrel flaring slightly to 7/8” muzzle. Oct. to round barrel shows decorative designs along top of barrel. All steel furnishings. Engraved lock plate and swan-necked hammer. Full-length stock made without functional ramrod, has silver wire inlays. Grip terminates with bulbous cap.  Estimate.........................$200-$300

28, PISTOL, dueling, European (probably German) percussion, swamped oct. barrel about .40 cal., name “Wolfe Hinrichs” inlaid in gold on top flat of barrel and number “2” on the breech. Single set trigger. Ornate butt cap, trigger guard with spur, side plates, lockplate and hammer all elaborately engraved. Deep reddish brown wood stock has the grip sharply curved to a right angle to the forestock. Ornately carved and checkered pistol grip. Estimate.................................$100-$200

29, LARGE PERCUSSION PISTOL, has the configuration of an English dueller, but was made without the trigger guard spur, .69 caliber, oct. 9” swamped barrel. Bottom 3 flats show fine Damascus pattern, upper flats show floral engraving entire length of barrel (with smooth wear). Steel trigger guard, bolster, R.R. ferulles & hammer engraved. Silver butt cap, forend cap, key escutcheons, & decorative inlays. Large crescent surrounds lock screws and a smaller one just behind tang. Brass v-notched rear sight, silver front sight. Lock plate shows date 1811 and a rampant lion holding a crown. Dark walnut stock has fine checkering to wrist. Works, crisp action. Replaced R.R. Estimate.................................$300-$400

30, U.S. MODEL 1842 PERCUSSION PISTOL, H. Aston, .54 caliber. Early plate markings are distinct, 1850 date. Clear markings on barrel & tang. Original patina to entire gun. Works, action is crisp. Estimate.................................$200-$300

32, PISTOL, British percussion. Single shot, .70 cal., 7 7/8” round barrel bearing British proof marks. All iron furniture, butt cap has lanyard ring. Converted from flintlock. Light rust pitting overall, wood in good condition without cracks. Estimate.................................$150-$250

33, HOLSTER PISTOL, percussion, .43 caliber. 9” round heavy barrel with original, in the white, steel finish. Iron under-rib, open sights. Brass fittings with dueller-style trigger guard. Dark cherry stock with sharply curved grip. Lock plate marked “Field & Langstroth” and light engraving showing two grouse to rear of hammer. Original R.R. trigger has curled tip. Works. Light trigger-pull but crisp. May actually be a plain dueller. Estimate.................................$250-$350

36, SPRINGFIELD, MODEL 1868. Trapdoor rifle. 50 cal. High arched breechblock, oil blued lock plate dated 1863. Barrel has been chemically cleaned. Stock has an old refinish, without cartouches. Later ramrod. Functions. Estimate.................................$400-$600

37, MUSKET, M1816, Springfield. Belgium conversion (cone) to percussion. 36” brl. Good proof marks on brl & stock. Forend shortened. 2 brl. bands. Brown brl. VG condition. Lock plate dated 1836.  Estimate.................................$300-$500

38, SPRINGFIELD, MODEL 1877. Trapdoor rifle, .45-70 S.N. 239XXX. Low-arch breechblock. Barrel flush with receiver walls. Rear sight base has curved sides. Old finish on stock. No cartouches. Metal fading blue, with light speckling near muzzle. Original ramrod. Complete, functions. Estimate.................................$400-$600

39, U.S. MODEL 1816 MUSKET, Belgian conversion to percussion with subsequent conversion to shotgun. Springfield 1823 lock plate.  Estimate.................................$75-$100

40, SPRINGFIELD, MODEL 1873, CADET. 29 ½” barrel, 1873 dated lock plate. High arched breechblock marked Model 1873 over eagle-head over crossed arrows over U.S.. Lacks rear sight. 41, PRUSSIAN M1831 MUSKET, percussion conversion, .72 caliber, three banded, iron furniture. As issued configurations, metal turned dark brown, wood with correct patina. Later ramrod. Small gouge on wrist behind tang. Nipple broken off. Estimate.................................$200-$300

42, REMINGTON, ROLLING BLOCK RIFLE, .50 caliber rifle. Appears to be the New York state model, but is without markings. Unit marking on butt plate tang. Sound, crisp, and complete except for cleaning rod. Has old ½” leather sling. 36” barrel. Estimate.................................$200-$300

43, REMINGTON, ROLLING BLOCK RIFLE, .45 caliber. Turkish contract. Complete except for cleaning rod. Sound and crisp. Has approximately 80% of old blue which is darkening. Wood has old varnish-type finish. Brass musket butt plate. Turkish markings on barrel star and crescent on left side of block. Saber bayonet lead and lug right side of muzzle. Estimate.................................$200-$300

44, RIFLE, BRITISH. Snyder conversion of the Enfield. Metal dark, wood has superficial worm damage. Incorrect ramrod, otherwise complete. Estimate.................................$100-$150

45, MUSKET, MIDDLE EASTERN, built on the lines of the British Enfield, and using a Tower lock. 28¾” brl. .64 cal. Elaborately decorated steel cap box on butt, trigger guard, hammer, breech and forend cap. Has old leather Enfield sling. Estimate.................................$100-$150

46, REMINGTON ROLLING BLOCK, Argentine license. 11 mm cal, browned finish, VG condition. Estimate.................................$150-$250

47, RIFLE, U.S. MODEL 1803; percussion conversion, patch box cover missing (balance of hinge remains), dbl-set triggers, lock plate is smooth from use, but the eagle can be made out, the U.S. is clearly visible. Very light pitting around drum. 36” brl. with US on left flat at breech, open v-notch rear sight. Front sight missing. About 70% of the original browning remains on brl. 15 ½” of the rear of the wood ramrod is missing. All brass fittings present and intact. The push-button lock for the patch box lid (missing) is in place. Stock length 30½”. Estimate.................................$500-$750

48, SPRINGFIELD, MODEL 1879. Trapdoor rifle, .45-70. complete, except missing cleaning rod, functions. Metal is heavily pitted, wood grain is lifted. Buckhorn rear sight. Serial No. is illegible. Estimate.................................$100-$150

49, SWISS PERCUSSION RIFLE, .45 cal, 32 ¼” brl, military configuration, oct. breech to round brl. 3 steel bands. Brass crescent butt plate. Back action lock, graceful c-shaped hammer with high forward curved spur. Nice 95% plum blue finish. Original arsenal / factory finish on wood. Crisp action. Ramrod, serial numbered. 50, SNIDER SHORT RIFLE, .64 cal. smooth bore, 25 ½” brl. ½ stock. Iron under-rib with 2 steel ferrules, clean in rod. Open fixed sights, British proofs with several mid-Eastern characters. Tight action functions. Old patina to wood. Estimate.................................$50-$100
